I was so lucky to work with an incredible group of brides this spring. My calendar flowed from one great event to the next and although I stayed incredibly busy, it was such a treat to work with flowers and styling and sweet couples. Immediately following Melissa and Lee’s wedding, I jumped right into final preparations for the Moen/Hermsen event! How sweet are these two?!
Amber and Troy hail from Wisconsin and were referred to me by a very talented videographer friend, Trevor George, who was also there to capture the big day! These two wanted live music and Nashville flair and we got started planning their destination wedding. Amber didn’t get too overwhelmed with the details. She and Troy wanted to throw a fun party for their closest family and friends, but didn’t want the focus to be on overwhelming decor or unnecessary details. They wanted a well-stocked bar, good music, BBQ and a place to dance and we found all of that in our great lineup of vendors! With dessert-scapes as centerpieces, a neutral and timeless color palette and 2 live musical groups, I think we accomplished what these two hoped for!
We worked in some fun, note-worthy details and those focused special touches hit the spot! Dramatic draping was used to highlight the ceremony area and aisle markers were repurposed during the reception. An interactive guest book offered guests the chance to try out their Instax skills and everyone loved the Tennessee shaped cookies with sweet thank you notes!
Amber wanted a tasteful bouquet, but otherwise was open to any suggestions I had. Playing off the purple embroidery on her wedding gown, I chose seasonal purple and white blooms for her floral accents. Fresh lavender, agonis and beautiful tulips and chocolate scabiosa created a very textural mix of blooms. I was pleased with its spring, garden feel.
Congratulations Mr. and Mrs. Hermsen! Thank you for letting us play a part in your special day!
