The weather this past Memorial Day weekend was absolutely perfect. Not too hot, a light breeze and beautiful light. What better time to host a nautical wedding than on a traditionally lake-friendly weekend!?
This bridal party was such a great group! They were so happy for Elizabeth and Justin and excited to celebrate with them. They were eager to help and I feel certain they would have gone to the ends of the earth to make this day perfect for our bride and groom.
This ceremony was so touching. Sweet, heartfelt and tearful, these two said “I do” by the water. “Minimal” was our goal for the ceremony to allow Old Hickory Lake to take center stage. As lake ‘people’, this was the most important part of their day.
With a nautical theme and a waterfront venue, we pulled out all the stops when styling this event! Custom navy and white striped table runners to aged driftwood pieces were used to create beautiful tablescapes for the guest dining tables. Anchors, pops of water blue and yellow added to the nautical-themed decor. Elizabeth and her mom, Lisa, incorporated some really fun DIY projects into the decor, including jute-wrapped vessels for their flower choices and signage created from oars.
My heart swells when I think of this sweet bride and her mom. We had SO. MUCH. FUN planning this wedding! (At least, I hope they had as much fun as I did!). You two were such a treat and I enjoyed our time together. I appreciate you trusting me with your vision and allowing me to be a part of such a special day!
