I’m so excited about this vendor highlight! I had the opportunity to meet with Amber right after Thanksgiving and had the greatest evening chatting and talking about our pups, passions and business. Amber has such an artistic eye and a true love of photography and is such fun to be around! Be sure to stop by the Boro Bridal Ball in March at the Stones River Country Club to meet Amber and her husband John and check out some of their work! And now, a bit about Lotus Blossom Photography…
1. WRITE A LITTLE SOMETHING ABOUT YOUR COMPANY AND WHO YOU ARE
I’m Amber, and together with my husband John, we are Lotus Blossom Photography. We’ve each been into photography for over 10 years but just went into business officially in May of 2008.
2. WHY YOU DO WHAT YOU DO
We were so incredibly blown away by the photos the amazing Michael Howard took of our wedding in 2006 that we determined we wanted to be able to share that same kind of joy with others. There is nothing more gratifiying to me than hearing a bride tell me she cried when she watched her wedding slideshow. I honestly feel like if the images I captured can bring someone to tears, then I’ve done my job 🙂
3. FAVORITE THING/SUBJECT TO PHOTOGRAPH?
Weddings, hands down. I love that there is usually such a hustle and bustle going on that people forget I’m there and I can capture real moments and real emotion.
4. WHAT YOU DO ON A TYPICAL WEEKEND?
If we don’t have a wedding or other session booked we enjoyed spending time with our four dogs. We have 2 rescued pugs, a rescued Golden Retriver/Great Pyranese mix, and an elderly Golden Retriever.
5. FAVORITE SUPER HERO?
Mine would have to be Storm from X-men.
6. THINGS THAT MAKE YOU SMILE?
Oh this is a hard one because there are about a billion things that make me smile! Ice cream, bacon infused desserts, e-mails, sunny days, White Chocolate Peppermint Mochas. Ok I think I mentioned too many food related items, but I couldn’t help it. My taste buds are just too close to my smile, LOL!
7. BESIDES TAKING PICTURES, WHAT DO YOU FILL YOUR FREE TIME WITH?
Well editing the photos that we take takes up most of my free time, but on the rare occasion that I finish up all of that I love to scrapbook. John is an avid golfer in his free time. We also both enjoy running and have run several marathons together.
8. ANY ADVICE/TIPS FOR YOUR SUBJECTS?
Make sure you hire someone to photograph your wedding that you really click with as this person will be with you lots and lots on one of the most special days of your life!
