Dinosaurs, sequins and stripes….oh MY! What a fun event! I’ve known Katy for nearly 14 years and as AXO sorority sisters, we spent many late nights with a cocktail and a chick flick and shared “fun” memories from Sigma Nu formals. I was super excited when we connected to talk about her wedding day and I loved the design ideas she had; it was so perfectly “Katy”! Goofy and fun, but classically styled in black and white.
With many things decided upon, we set to work to bring the details together and fill in the vendor gaps. With black and white details and a love of colorful blooms, we created a classic but spunky feel for her wedding day. Sunglasses and glow sticks, Instax and sequins, sparklers and a photobooth were just some of the funky elements we included in the day.
I needed an assistant and being so close to Medina, what better assistant than a BFF?! With Anna’s help, I loaded, unloaded, prepped and created floral arrangements in our Hampton Inn suite, praying that Katy liked the flower/style I chose. With a bit of colorful inspiration and the details nailed down, I chose bright, bold blooms to be beautifully highlighted against the bridesmaids’ black dresses. I think the end result was also quintessentially “Katy” and I enjoyed creating these pieces with such incredible help! Who knew Anna could whip out bouts so quickly and expertly?!
Union City was new to me and sometimes working with an ENTIRELY new vendor lineup is challenging, but I was so fortunate that Katy picked the best group west of Nashville, as these ladies were welcoming, helpful and genuinely excited for our couple. I could not have done this without them!
