Despite my double ear infection, I couldn’t wait any longer to post these pictures of my favorite 4 yr. old’s birthday party.  I’m not sure I can conjure up the appropriate words to describe how important this family is to me.  Suffice it to say that Anna (Miles’s mother) is one of my oldest and dearest friends; one of those you can talk to everyday or only once a month and pick up exactly where you left off.  She married such a sweet guy and the 3 of them make up (in my opinion!), the ideal family.  Their life is engulfed with the advancement and education of their daughter and Miles’s sweet disposition is proof that what they are doing, works wonders.

With that being said, Anna pulled out all the stops for Miles’s 4 birthday party!  Last year, Clay and I walked into a carnival…literally, complete with balloon animals and a cotton candy machine!  This year, they decided upon an ultra girly tea party, with pink lemonade and yummy cupcakes.

Miles’s sweet girlfriends were greeted at the door with tutus (handmade by Anna) and purses filled with princess essentials: tiara, wand and sparkly bracelet.  We placed a beautiful vintage quilt on the floor, used a large old coffee table and covered it with a linen cloth to set the scene for the sweet tea party.

Paper flowers, handcrafted by Anna, acted as a sweet, simple centerpiece for the dining table.

Anna’s Fransiscan Desert Rose teacups and saucers were used to add the “big girl” feel to the party.  Cupcakes, croissant sandwiches, and strawberries were served (along with Miles’s requested sausage balls!) to her sweet friends.

Sweet Martha Ann, the youngest of the guests at 18 months, was an absolute doll!  So well behaved and excited to be part of such a big girl party!   She engulfed the delicious sugar cookies and couldn’t get enough of the pink lemonade!

Anna and Frank hired a professional photographer to come and spend the afternoon with the birthday girl and her friends.  Her shots of the birthday party are beautiful and I encourage anyone looking for a photographer in the Jackson area, to check out Kristen Reed Photography.

I had such a wonderful time at Miles’s tea party and as always, was so honored to help with the setup and decor!  I can’t wait to see what her 5th birthday “theme” will be!!

This is so cute! I work with Frank’s aunt Beth, she is one of my friends! She told me about how cute the party was and I was excited to see it on your blog!

  2. Anna says:

Emily, Words cannot express how much you mean to me! You definitely pulled the party together and had so many great ideas to make the party special. Just think, next year we will have to coordinate 2 little girls and their parties! Oh, I’m tired just thinking about it. Thank you so much for coming and spending the weekend with us to celebrate Miles’ big day and for all the hard work you put into it. We all love you and Clay so much and are honored to have you as friends.
