It’s hard to believe that 2010 is coming to an end: The holidays snuck up on us and wedding season 2011 is right around the corner! We have some exciting new changes and ventures for 2011 and we are both eager to get started!
Because I’m a “list” person, what better way for me to commemorate the year we leave behind and the year we anxiously await, than with LISTS (okay, maybe more like paragraphs..)! 🙂 (Some of you are rolling your eyes…I see you….)
In 2010, we grew in business and in our personal life. We moved into our “nightmare renovation” project (which we LOVE!), moved our friend Leah into our condo, gained a roommate (my little sister), witnessed Nashville’s great tragedy, took a fantastic Disney trip with the Saunders, Clay started a new (and super exciting!) job with Traveler’s Catastrophe claims team, super fun lake weekends with our dearest friends, welcomed a sweet nephew into our lives, met some wonderful young couples who shared their wedding planning adventures with us (and made new friends!), new business pictures from Lotus Blossom Photography, met fabulous new wedding vendors, served as board members for Nashville’s newest wedding vendor networking group (The Wedding Shoppe), worked with Nashville’s chapter of Wish Upon a Wedding, participated in 2 bridal fairs, donated services to Make a Wish, comforted friends in times of great loss, booked brides for 2011 (AND 2012!), toured Savannah on Segways, hosted fun and quirky bridal/wedding/baby showers, ventured into floral design, started organizing my craft room/office, our 3rd anniversary, Clay’s lost (then found!) wedding ring scenario, a wonderful Christmas and a super fun New Year’s Eve wedding/party!
So 2010 was pretty great! Trying at times, but great! BUT…2011 is going to be even better…. painting our house and a new fence, working with fantastic young couples for their 2011 nuptials, our spring “Up”-inspired photo shoot with Lotus Blossom Photography, long-awaited Mammoth Mtn. ski trips (hopefully with family AND friends!), restructured wedding collections, Kennedy family photo shoot, my dad’s retirement, new marketing materials, dear friends’ weddings, organization in our house including Clay’s office and my craft room, new computer, networking events with other middle TN wedding vendors, new business cards, growth in business thanks to our incredible clients, New Year’s resolutions, lake trips and family gatherings with our sweet nephew, upcoming weddings with some of Nashville’s finest vendors, new hobbies, sister-in-law’s law school graduation, our nephew’s baptism, Cirque du Soleil, bridal fairs, Clay’s travels (which probably means MY travels!)… and we’re just getting started!
Ironically, we end our year with a wedding. Clay and fellow fraternity brothers will serve as groomsmen as another Sigma Nu takes the plunge. 🙂 We leave tonight, travel to Birmingham, and begin our new year’s festivities with sweet friends!
