I love Instagram. I have won contests, found workshops and made friends via Instagram. On one particular boring day, I ran across a post from Once Wed asking for floral designers in the Atlanta area who might be interested in a project with Joy Thigpen. I emailed expressing an interest but letting them know I was in Nashville. Then, I waited. Next thing I know, I’m driving to Atlanta on a random Tuesday to film a Wedding Styling 101 feature.

Five floral designers, of varying experience, were asked to select from an array of blooms and create a bouquet. Joy would then walk through our creation, on camera, and talk to us about the camera’s impact on our bouquet. (I.e. Is there enough dimension? Do flowers get lost? Does the camera skew our arrangement? Etc.) She had some great pointers and it was a lovely way to spend the afternoon! Thanks to Once Wed and Joy for letting me be a part of the fun!
