I’ve known Natalie for almost 15 years. She was actually one of the first girls I met on campus at MTSU and she instantly intimidated me…she was older AND in a sorority! Fast forward a few months and we are sorority sisters, planning events, attending social gatherings and pomping homecoming floats. When she contacted me nearly 10 years after graduation to talk about her wedding, I was honored! Natalie has always had great taste and had hired some outstanding vendors, so I knew this wedding was going to be really beautiful.
With Carnton Plantation as the backdrop, we worked with a classic black/white/blush color palette. In addition to some burlap and wooden accents, she wanted to incorporate mason jars and white lanterns into the decor. Her bridesmaids wore long black gowns and the guys looked incredibly handsome in class black tuxedos.
After pulling her decor elements into place, we worked through her floral design. Styled after a photo she fell in love with, I created her bouquet in neutral shades and included traditional wedding blooms with a bit of texture. Her maids carried smaller, all white bouquets and larger blooms in complimentary colors were used as aisle markers and then repurposed as a tasteful floral detail on the dining tables. I thought the end result was elegant and timeless.
But seriously…How gorgeous is Natalie?! I love how they incorporated their sons into the wedding day and took formal images with them. Such a sweet memory!
