This year has started off with a bang! New clients, new listings, and fun marketing (possibly branding!) plans in the works! It’s going to be an exciting year with weddings at new venues, out of state brides, lakeside weddings, etc. and I can’t wait to see what other exciting events this year brings!
One thing I’m anxious for in 2014 is tackling my struggle with floral design…well…it’s complicated and “struggle” is not really the correct word. Let me explain! One of my FAVORITE aspects of a wedding is floral decor. Always has been. Flowers were a HUGE part of my wedding and they are something I love to create. I have struggled the last few years with my confidence in this creative area, but with the kind words and encouragement of friends, family, fellow vendors & trusting brides who admire my work, I’ve expanded my talent and stretched my comfort level. I wonder if floral design should be a separate service offered to brides…should I pursue floral design for events that I don’t plan/orchestrate? Should I push this passion further by creating a facet of Kennedy Occasions for those brides interested in ONLY florals? Am I talented enough for such a venture? These questions flutter in and out of my daily thoughts and I’m excited to work out the answers!
With a new-found admiration for my skill (personal pat on the back!), I’ve spent some time browsing photographs of past events and floral creations. I realize when I look through photos of these beautiful couples, my favorite is ALWAYS one of my gorgeous bride (or couple) and the bridal bouquet. To me, that is THE wedding portrait: The timeless tale of your big day. The photograph your parents hang on the wall in the dining room or the one sitting on your dressing table. Because flowers are on the brain, I wanted to share a few of these photographs… 🙂 Enjoy!
And last, but not least…
All of these beautiful ladies trusted me to create their floral designs and I hope they know what an incredible honor that was for me! Thank you! I can’t wait for the floral lineup of 2014!!!
