Fall of 2014 was absolutely nuts. I had 8 weddings in 8 weeks and with a full time job, I knew it was going to be a challenge. Luckily, I had some of my favorite couples lined up for fall weddings and a stellar vendor lineup for each event! I kicked off my 8 week stint with Bailey and Hunter’s pale pink and blue barn wedding.
Bailey and Hunter are one of the most adorable couples I have been fortunate to work with. This teacher married her police officer in a beautiful pink/blue, classically-styled wedding filled with surprising details. From the candy buffet to the live bluegrass band, this couple wanted their guests to have a ball on their big day. Bailey was incredibly laid back throughout the planning process and I felt she was truly looking forward to the best part: marrying her best friend.
With a larger guest list, set dining tables and tablescapes, we called in lots of extra hands. From brass candlesticks and tealights to garden urns and lanterns, we had LOTS of fun items to adorn the dining tables. We had an incredible vendor lineup and this event went swimmingly well! With a well-stocked bar, custom koozies, a candy buffet and DJ Adam Warfield at the helm, this group of wedding guests were kept energized and danced the night away!
The floral design requirements were some of the most challenging to that point. With full time employment, the planning and orchestration of this event and floral centerpieces, ceremony decor, bouquets, etc, I wasn’t sure I was going to be able to keep up with the demand! Her bouquet was my first experience with Cafe Au Lait dahlias and Blushing Bride protea and Oh My! I adored these impressive blooms and the elegance they added to her bridal ‘look’. I feel that this would be a great time to introduce Betsy…
Enter Betsy. When I sent out an SOS for floral help/intern work, she answered with gusto! She was so excited to get her hands in flowers and I was so grateful for the help. We worked 3 nights prepping vessels, prepping blooms and creating arrangements. I fueled off of her enthusiasm and eagerness to learn and I was able to teach her some tricks of the trade and introduce her to some new flowers. I can’t wait to see how this talented lady grows in her floral business! She was a blessing and this could not have happened without her!
This was the absolute perfect event to start my fall season with. A happy bride and groom, excited families and a late night party: the recipe for an spectacular, fun-filled event!
