This is not the next sequential wedding I should blog. The next one should share the story of a sweet couple from Connecticut who kicked my season off with one heck of an event, logistically and style-wise. There are actually 2 before Chris and Meghann’s would be scheduled but I am led to write this post. Hopefully no one cares too much about the order…
Last week, one of my sorority sisters lost her home and beloved pet in a house fire. She and her husband were not home at the time and are physically okay, but lost everything. It’s been 11 years since I was a student at MTSU or a collegiate member of AXO, but this past weekend sent through me a resurgence of feelings. I reminisced on good times and enjoyed reading the sweet posts from my sorority sisters as we offered to help, made donations and shared virtual hugs during this sad time for K and her husband. Watching the outpouring of love showered upon our sister in her time of need was absolutely incredible and I wanted to continue all the feels. So, what better way to do that than to share the wedding details of one of our own!? With an AX bride, AX bridesmaids, an adorable AX offspring (stealing the show in her role as ‘Flower Girl’), and AX guests, these images, this week need to be shared. I’ve known Meghann for more than 12 years. Like my former brides and sorority sisters, Natalie and Katy, Meghann and I shared many memories together as we ventured through our time at Middle TN State University. I am always so honored when a fellow AXO asks me to be a part of their wedding and was excited to learn all about Meghann’s plans for her Big Day.
Meghann had a long engagement, which meant she had a lot of time to plan and style her event. She came to me with a clear vision, a helpful group of leading ladies and a handful of vendor thoughts, to include Riverwood Mansion and Greenfinch Floral Design. She worked through color palettes to land upon shades of peach, pink and gold. Her bridal party wore tastefully detailed gowns that brushed the floor while her guys were extremely dapper in their navy 3-piece suits. I loved the detail on her wedding dress and how her attire choices perfectly complemented her venue.
Riverwood Mansion was the perfect location for her cocktail soiree. Meghann wanted movement and energy throughout her wedding day and Riverwood’s interior, garden and pavilion set the tone for guests to walk around and explore. The weather, although it looked severe leading up to her day, was absolutely perfect and her outdoor garden wedding dreams were a reality.
Erin Allender of The Collection was brought on board, as well as A Frosted Affair, and I knew we were in for a treat. I loved the custom cake topper Meghann had hand-crafted of their new family and the nod to her Maryland home with the oyster shells.
When Chef’s Market joined the lineup, they fashioned a menu certain to wow guests. With a swanky cocktail setup, the reception was stunning. Details and interactive stations encouraged her guests to create their own grilled cheese sandwich, sign an oyster shell for the couple’s new home or take their photo with an Instax to help build a guest book of well wishes.
An evening of dancing, signature cocktails and possibly the greatest best man speech I have witnessed, this crew was smiling all night long. Erin captured incredible laughter and energy and each of the details designed by the bride, her groom and her team of help.Coffee mugs labeled “Brewed Just Wright” sent guests out with a giggle as they prepared to send the couple off in style: that car!
It’s fun to be me on a wedding day; to hear what guests have to say as a fly on the wall: many rave reviews for this soiree! Meghann’s “Cocktail Garden Party” theme was well received and a hit amongst the guests. Congratulations Mr. and Mrs. Wright…Thank you for allowing us to be a part of your day!
